The respiratory and respiratory intensive care unit department of Beijing Ji Shui Tan Hospital is an Independent clinical department responsible for medicine, teaching and research, which centralizes the administration of outpatient, inpatient and RICU. It is a postgraduate education station of medical department of Peking University, a standardized base of the first and the second period of medical residency training and general practice training. Besides, it is also a national drug clinical trial base. It is responsible for the education of the medical department of Peking University, including medical students of the five-year system and the eight-year, nursing students and evening college students. The three branches separately have respiratory function examination room, Sleeping-breathing monitoring room and digital endoscopy center including bronchoscopy room, thoracoscopy room (internal medicine department) and anesthesia recovery room. The department consists of 2 chief physicians, 5 deputy chief physicians ,8 doctors in charge,4 resident physicians,1 deputy chief engineer,2 supervisor technician and 47 Nursing staff at all levels, including 7 medical doctors, 4 medical masters, 2 Ph.D students. 1800 patients were treated inpatient per year and more than 40000 people were treated outpatient per year.
The department consists of multi-level echelon of high-quality personnel with good professional ethics and strong grieve concept, guided by new management philosophy and culture service pattern. We specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of respiratory diseases, such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, chronic cough, bronchial asthma, interstitial lung disease, lungs and pleura tumors; sleep disordered breathing infections and other diseases. We have rich clinical experience in treating various respiratory difficult diseases. We are outstanding in critical respiratory disease, with advanced care resuscitation equipments and excellent health care team, who are skilled in life supporting and respiratory tract management. Both of them are equipped with various instruments and rescue equipments, such as a plurality of multi parameter monitors invasive or noninvasive, a variety of ventilators invasive or noninvasive, digital infusion device, pulse index continuous cardiac output amount of hemodynamic monitors (PiCCO) and blood gas analysis devices. Some important and Operation techniques, such as continuous arteriovenous hemodialysis and dialysis bedside, ultrasound bedside and percutaneous tracheotomy, can be conducted to improve the success rate of rescue in some difficult cases such as respiratory failure, multiple organ failure, acute lung injury caused by trauma and burns or pulmonary embolism.
The three branches are both provided with respiratory endoscopy room equipped with advanced diagnosis and treatment equipment such as fluorescent electron bronchoscopy, ultrasound bronchoscopy, tracheal intubation endoscopy, fibrolaryngoscope and thoracic esophagectomy. Some important technologies are developed to help diagnosis lung cancer earlier and make right diagnosis of other pulmonary diseases, including transbronchial needle aspiration(TBNA), transbronchoscopic lung biopsy(TBLB)and bronchoalveolar lavage fluid(BALF). Besides, the operations including bilateral whole lung lavage, argon plasma coagulation(APC) via bronchofibroscopy, stent implantation via bronchofibroscopy and other endoscopic technique can also be conducted. In addition, the painless electronic bronchoscopy was introduced to reduce the pains and the sufferings during the treatment. The clinical application of thoracic esophagectomy has improved the diagnosis rate of pleural lesions to a large extent. Lung biopsy guided by CT or ultrasound presents a clinical base for evaluation of pulmonary nodules.
The three branches are both provided with pulmonary function examination room equipped with static and dynamic pulmonary function test instruments ,which can be used in airway stimulating or airway dilation and cardiopulmonary exercise test. The nutrient metabolism test system is used to provide reasonable nutrition plan for patients, providing accurate and reliable theoretical basis for rehabilitation measures.
The three branches are also provided with sleeping breathing monitoring room equipped with 4 beds and several bedside and remote sensing sleeping breathing monitor for the diagnosis and treatment of sleep respiratory diseases. It help to cure snoring, Inhibiting occurrence and development of hypertension, coronary heart disease , cerebral vascular disease and diabetes.Our rich experience in treatment of perioperative sleep respiratory diseases benefits from the characteristics of JST hospital, greatly reducing the risk of perioperative period of the patients and improving the success rate of operation.
